Charlie and the Team
How does one say thank-you for saving my best buddy and companion? Dr. Prince and the team at the Macewan veterinary clinic were remarkable with their care of my very sick puppy (well actually 6 years old but still a puppy to me) and her distraught owner!
Charlie was so sick with GI symptoms – vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal tenderness that resulted in exploratory surgery! Dr. Prince saved her life by finding a section of bowel that had inverted into itself and he was able to fix it. She had pre and post op intravenous and is on a very special diet for the next couple of months… Absolutely AMAZING results and I can’t believe how quickly she has bounced back.
Charlie and I really need to thank the staff and Dr. Prince at the clinic,… they heard my concerns, were very empathetic, called and gave me updates on her condition throughout the day, explained everything in detail and answered my questions both with professionalism and with wisdom. They take the time to be there with you and I never felt rushed or that Charlie was just another patient to be handled quickly. Their customer service is excellent and I knew Charlie was in good with all of them.
Oscar Wilde once said “The smallest act of kindness is worth more that the grandest intention”… all of the team at the clinic believe in and practice acts of kindness each in their own way…. A wonderful team of caring people who obviously love animals and their jobs!
Sincerely,
Barb Armstrong & Charlie
Gizmo – Trupanion Experience
When our family decided to get a puppy, we looked into many things in order to find our right fit. We contacted the Macewan Veterinary clinic prior to getting our puppy just to make sure we knew the schedule and costs involved for vaccinating and neutering a puppy. After we did this, we picked a cute Shih-Tzu/Yorkie cross as the new addition to our family, now known as Gizmo.
When Gizmo went in for his first visit and vaccinations, the clinic set us up with a free month of insurance. “Trupanion. At the end of the 30 days, Trupanion contacted us to see if we would like to carry on with the coverage. They also took the time to tell us about the different levels and costs of coverage that were available based on OUR preference. To make a long story short, Gizmo was pre-screened with a blood panel prior to his neuter, and a problem was discovered. After a few additional blood tests and diagnostics were performed (including a Ultrasound), he was okay to be neutered. Luckily, these tests were covered by his insurance policy. At no time did Gizmo show signs of a problem; he remained a very happy and active puppy!
We never thought we would need coverage nor did we want to have to use it, but we are very thankful that we have it. Everything has turned out for Gizmo, and the pet insurance is one of the best things we have done for ourselves and for Gizmo.
